What is it about?

This study assessed how a national multimedia campaign in Tanzania that brought attention to the problems with cross-generational sex was related to communication about cross-generational relationships and engagement in such relationships. We found that the more one was exposed to the campaign, the more likely they were to talk with others about cross-generational relationships, to intervene in such relationships, and the less likely young women engaged with much older men.

Why is it important?

Our findings show that a multimedia campaign can increase communication around critical health issues and can influence more positive health behaviors.

Perspectives

This campaign was so unique and so much fun to evaluate. This is one of my favorite projects I have ever had the pleasure to work on.
