What is it about?
This work deals with the Production of multilayer graphene oxide from graphite oxidation and its subsequent functionalization with diethylenetriamine (DETA). Both nanomaterials were evaluated as nanosorbent of the Methylene Blue (MB) and Reactive Black 5 (RB5). Comparative assessment regarding removal efficiency and adsorptive parâmetros were stablished. The amino-GO was also testes in a binary adsorption (MB+RB5) experiment and in real textile effluent treatment with satisfactory results.

Why is it important?
Amino-graphene oxide showed outstanding adsorptive capacity towards MB and RB5 removal. Binary Adsorption evidenced that the interactions of both dyes favored the Adsorption.
