What is it about?

We describe the process of isolating a begomovirus infecting a weed in Jamaica. We also talk about the DNA sequence analyses that allowed us to determine what species this virus belongs to.

Why is it important?

This is the first time that the entire DNA sequence of this virus had been described. Its relationship to other viruses suggests it may be related to Cuban tobacco & tomato viruses.
