What is it about?
Based on 5-minute accumulations of data from the urban network of Barcelona (1994-2009), an analysis of the normalized rainfall intensity curves was carried out for 41 selected episodes (with return periods more than 1 year in any of the durations considered between 5 minutes and 24 hours, and a total duration of more than 2 hours). Parameters related to different aspects of the rainfall, such as its intermittency or the maximum intensity peak, have been found for the 41 episodes, obtaining their spatial distribution over the metropolitan area.
