What is it about?
Detailed monitoring of cave air temperature is being carried out in several sites of the cave in order to reconstruct temporal and spatial variability patterns. Fundamental statistical and time-series analyses were employed including basic descriptive statistics as well as spectral and cross-correlation analysis. A possible impact of the temperature of water percolation through the cave ceiling, cave ice deposit or heat released due to tourist use (lighting, human presence) has been examined.

Why is it important?
The main contribution of the study were (i.) characterization of the air T regime, (ii.) determination of the factors that influence the spatial and temporal variability of air T within the cave, and (iii.) analysis of the impact of visitors on air T.
