What is it about?
Analytic methods were used in seventeenth century works after Viète's and Descartes works diffussion. We have shown the introduction by Ozanam of these methods in Diophantus' Arithmetic. He introduced a connection between the algebraic solutions and what he called geometric determinations by obtaining loci from the solutions.
