What is it about?
Recent research revealed that environments have a more substantial impact on our development and behaviour than we previously thought. Environments influence our development even in adult age. One could even say that the environments we choose to spend our time in affect who we are. This article provides an overview of an ongoing study that investigates the effect of designed environments on creativity and the suitability of recent biosensor technology to measure the effect.

Why is it important?
Research of the past decade has highlighted the impact of environments on human well-being in general. Creativity is a distinctive feature of human nature that involves various cognitive processes and drives innovation, progress, and personal growth. This paper investigates the effect of designed environments on the different stages of human creativity. It provides an overview of the theoretical basis, and a critical review of the employed tools and methods, with a focus on the use of VR technology and EEG in evaluating creativity.
