What is it about?

This is a crucial introduction to the diverse approaches that constitute a new configuration of knowledge practices that subsumes posthumanism and new materialism, feminist theory, artistic research, STS environmental humanities and other more-than-human humanities and social sciences into feminist posthumanities.

Why is it important?

It is important to keep abreast of the transformations going on in the humanities today, as scholars of these fields are facing the societal challenges of new AI technologies, climate crisis and species extinction with a new ethics of conviviality. Feminist posthumanities face the interdisciplinary problems and possibilities head on.

Perspectives

This collection of arguments and scholars from all corners of the world took a long time to finalize for me, but it was all worth it in the end. It exhibits the extensive networks of The Posthumanities Hub and of European posthumanisms á la Rosi Braidotti. Nice and pedagogical writing makes this a useful book to throw at students and colleagues whom are a bit new to new materialisms, interdisciplinary humanities, and the many practices of posthumanities.
