What is it about?

The article explains how to align a sensitive axis of a sensor that measures a vectorial quantity (e.g. accelerometer, force sensor) in a very fast way, rotating it about a horizontal axis. The rotations can be reduced to only two angular positions!

Why is it important?

Missalignment of a sensitive axis of a sensor measuring a vectorial quantity leads to significant measurement errors. Usually, the applied alignment procedures are very toilsome and time-consuming. I propose an interesting alternative, which can be easily implemented by anybody, not only the experts.

Perspectives

I hope this article will help many engineeres and researchers to align the sensitive axes of the sensors they use, and in this way considerably improve accuracy of the related measurements.
