What is it about?
This chapter discusses the traditional role of brothers and sisters and their relations in the context of honour killings. The murder of women by their male family members for the sake of family honour is known as honour killing. The perpetrators of honour killings can include fathers, brothers, husbands and other close relatives.

Why is it important?
My findings suggest the perpetrators of honour killings can include fathers, brothers, husbands and other close relatives. Between 2010 to 2014, 4388 incidents of honour killings of women were recorded in Pakistan. Information on perpetrators was available for 4070 cases: 22% (926/4070) of the killers were their brothers. Despite this, the research participants consider that the relationships between brothers and sisters are of love, respect and trust.
