What is it about?
Wind environment research usually requires lots of comparisons of simulations to study influences on wind environment of building shapes and arrangements. Our research developed a novel methodology that integrates computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation and parametric tools. We can now provide accurate and efficient integrated design solutions for wind environmental studies of contemporary buildings. It allows architects to improve their design in the early stage and just in time.

Why is it important?
Our methodology allows designers and planners to understand the impact of wind around their designs when designing. Typically the designers have to send their designs to wind-engineers to get an analysis. This takes a long time and is expensive. Often the result comes too late, and design decisions are already finalised. It empowers designers to do the right thing while they design and explore options.
