What is it about?

Fractal geometry is a relatively young and promesing mathematical concept. The focus of this article lies on using this powerful tool for monitoring and forecasting the water solubility of dihydroquercetin cocrystals.

Why is it important?

According to the principles of GMP, a pharmaceutical process must be designed and carried out in such a way that the product quality is analyzed at the end of the process and suitable systems are used for designing, monitoring, and controlling a process with the goal of ensuring final product quality. The fractal model can find wide application in the pharmaceutical industry as a tool for automating quality assays without substance loss.

Perspectives

The preparation of this article was a kind of challenge. I was just a student and was preparing my master thesis. The understanding of the correlation between solubility and fractality of cocrystals was fantastic and seems like a "voodoo". My German scientific supervisor did not think, that the results had been promising for the pharmaceutical industry. However this article is published and I am very thankful to everybody, who make this paper is possible.
