Why is it important?
People with dyslexia have trouble learning how to read. However, they can be very successful in other areas. In this study we tested several music-related abilities, some have common mechanisms with reading, and some are very different. We showed that while abilities that lean upon processes that require temporal resolution are deficient among participants with dyslexia, other processes are even better than those with no dyslexia.
Perspectives
This was a very interesting topic to study. I am very happy we chose a variety of music-related abilities and were able to show a wide and complex picture.
