What is it about?
We use the case of Ecuador’s dollarization — adopting the dollar as its official currency — to show that experience with policy changes helps citizens form rational preference on complex policy issues. Citizens who were economically active during dollarization are more likely to have monetary preferences that match their objective economic interests.
