What is it about?
This population-based study demonstrates two distinct and common Lewy-related pathology (LRP) progression patterns in the brain of very elderly population (85 years and older). There are hierarchical caudo-rostral progression pattern and the amygdala-based pattern. The amygdala-based progression pattern was associated with APOE ε4 and Alzheimer's disease (AD) pathology.

Why is it important?
The results confirm the previous progression hypotheses but also widen the concept of the AD-associated LRP.
