What is it about?
Non-coding RNAs can regulate gene expression, and their dysregulation can result in the progression of various diseases. This review summarises the latest findings of non-coding RNAs' role in disease pathogenesis, focusing on osteoarthritis. In addition, utilisation of ncRNA in clinical practice is mentioned.

Why is it important?
Understanding the molecular mechanism of non-coding RNAs in diseases could potentially open the door for their use as biomarkers or targeted therapeutics. Especially in osteoarthritis, no treatment has been developed yet, and ncRNAs can be the right way in the future.
