What is it about?
Reference range for PKR and inotropic index were calculated from a sample of 626 healthy pregnant women between 5 a 41 weeks. Those novel cardiac parameters in pregnant women with placentation disorders were compared against physiological pregnancies.

Why is it important?
This is the very first time reference ranges for PKR and SMII are established in pregnancy. This article helps to visualise the subclinical cardiac conditions in women with placentation disorders like low cardiac contractility in women with small for gestational age fetuses.
