What is it about?

Antenatal testing is a standard component in the management of suspected fetal growth restriction, but is not currently recommended for the large for gestational age (LGA) fetus. We performed a retrospective cohort study to determine the incidence of stillbirth in LGA vs. appropriate for gestational age pregnancies. Pregnancies complicated by LGA were at 3-fold higher risk for stillbirth at or beyond 36 weeks, independent of maternal diabetes status, and may benefit from antenatal testing.
