What is it about?
We recorded the venous intravasation in women during air/saline hysterosalpingo-contrast sonography, which caused an inconclusive result of left tube evaluation. Subsequent foam infusion suggested an occluded left tube without sings of intravasation. There are no reports described this event during ultrasound tubal patency testing. The risk of intravasation during ultrasound assessment of tubal patency should be considered and one should be aware of this potential cause of false negative results.
