What is it about?

This chapter describes an annual campus-wide event (Peer Review of Assessment) in which faculty engage in facilitated discussions of their program-level assessment reports. The event supports efforts to improve the quality of assessment of student learning in three ways. The discussions develop faculty expertise with assessment practices, encourage cross-discipline discussions of instructional strategies that promote common learning goals, and guide the refinement of templates and procedures used to document assessment activity.
