What is it about?

Wavelet transformation has been used in the literature for damage detection and structural health monitoring. In this paper a novel approach based on Wavelet Coefficient Differences and Multi resolution is present3d that makes the damage detection more accurate and more effective.

Why is it important?

Interpretation of data collected from sensors, especially for large volume of collected data , is a challenge in structural health monitoring. The proposed approach offers a more effective and computationally more efficient approach for this problem.

Perspectives

This paper is part of a series of extensive studies by the authors introducing novel techniques based on Wavelet Transformation for structural health monitoring. These topics have nnot been addressed in the literature in a methodical way. Prior approaches have been based on ad-hoc and trial and error schemes.
