Why is it important?

It is important because it provides a check list for editors starting or launching a new journal

Perspectives

I reaslised the need for such a publication when I was involved in publishing our institutional journals online using Online Journal Systems (OJS). It was evident that a checklist that brings together the policies and standards that were scattred across different sources is a useful tool for editorial teams that have no prior experience or training in journal publishing
