Why is it important?

this work shows that individual cell is infected by a single HPV types and that in multiple HPV infection only one type can cause dysplasia in one lesion although multiple lesions with different diagnosis can be found they can be caused by different HPV types. this is important in epidemiology of the HPV types that cause dysplasia in different populations.
