What is it about?

This paper describes how systems engineering is actually applied (without knowing it) to create complex pieces of art, in particular, a film original score.

Why is it important?

Systems engineering is traditionally employed in engineering and technological domains. However, is there a potential to apply it also to non-traditional domains such as art? Furthermore, is there anything from the artistic world that we could use to improve the practice of systems engineering in engineering technical systems?

Perspectives

This article shows great potential in two areas. First, expanding the reach of systems engineering beyond its current comfort tones. Second, learn from other domains to improve our current practice of systems engineering.
