What is it about?
When quantifying Western blots people will often use a housekeeping protein as a method of standardising their results. We have found the commonly used Housekeepers to be changed throughout brain development and under certain pathological conditions in the piglet brain. We suggest creating an Internal Pooled standard as a more reliable way to quantitate Western blots.

Why is it important?
Reproducible and reliable results are a must for interpreting data correctly. Creating a standard curve from an 'in-house' pooled standard ensures accurate data analyses.
