What is it about?
Climate change is a hot topic, and its influence on both freshwater ecosystems and fish ecology is a central issue due to their sensitivity. We use improved methods and focus our interest in the thermal ecology of the brown trout to forecast the expected changes in two brown trout populations at the south edge of their natural distribution range.

Why is it important?
This paper use the last climate change scenarios of IPCC5, and improvements in the stream temperature modelling and the variables selection are done. Also, the realized thermal niche of the brown trout is determined empirically.
