What is it about?
A new reporting system for endometrial cytopathology was introduced to the laboratory. For quality control reasons it is important to evaluate the performance of this system by comparing the diagnoses of different cytopathologists on the same histologically confirmed specimens.

Why is it important?
The standard method to compare the results produced by two or more cytopathologists is the kappa statistics, however this method does not take to account the existence of ranking in the diagnostic scale. In this paper the comparison is performed via Kendall’s Coefficient of Variation which is more accurate than the kappa statistics.
