What is it about?
Echo State Networks are used to extract features from images. Based on these features image pixels are classified. We have applied this technique in natural colour images and blood vessels in retinal images.

Why is it important?
Echo state networks are used to segment both of natural colour images and blood vessels in retinal images. We have found that the use of only a group of neurons from the echo state network reservoir is enough to deliver a good segmentation performance.
