What is it about?
We have shown that a silyl group from oxygen migrate to neighbouring carbanion centre on ferrocenyl derivatives. Carbanion centre can be obtained by Br-Li exchange as well as by diastereoselective ortho-lithiation.

Why is it important?
Ferrocenyl silicon containing derivatives are useful in the synthesis of chiral ferrocenyl ligands. We have shown that retro-Brook rearrangement initiated by diastereoselective lithiation can lead to interesting chiral derivatives.
