What is it about?
In this publication, we recount and analyze our experience with organizing an in-person computerized examination for Armenia's National Biology Olympiad during the Covid-19 pandemic. Our data shows that while student participation declined slightly in the initial round of the olympiad, subsequent rounds showed sustained student engagement despite months of online instruction and Covid-19 wariness. By using computerized exams with appropriate safety measures, we demonstrate the feasibility of organizing a large-scale in-person exam with minimal risk of Covid-19 spread.
