What is it about?

Changes in catchment land use, catchment density of small dams, and instream dams result in changes to normal patterns of temperature and flow of the river. These changes in turn affect natural biological patterns and rates, as well as organism exchange and dispersal. The proposed conectivity index for rivers can be used for prioritizing areas for freshwater conservation in the province.
