What is it about?
Graphene's unique electronic properties and unconventional d-wave superconductivity can be "married" in proximity devices that present new physics and offer potential for novel applications in electronics. This review summarizes the theoretical and experimental studies on the topic.

Why is it important?
The anisotropic nature of d-wave superconductivity enriches the proximity behavior as compared to the more often studied case of proximity with conventional (s-wave) superconductors. The review provides a theoretical introduction to the specificities of the problem in the presence of d-wave correlations, and a comprehensive explanation of the experimental challenges accomplished advances and open avenues of research.
