What is it about?
Rapid transformation of a nonconductive PVC sheet into conductive substrate using single walled carbon nanotubes to be used as a metalfree counter electrode in DSSC. This conductive PVC substrate exhibited high durability and strong mechanical adhesion when subjected to the bending and tape adhesion tests and an impressive catalytic activity i.e. charge transfer resistance (2.7 Ω cm 2 ) compared to thermally platinized counter electrode (2.2 Ω cm 2 ) when tested in DSSC. The DSSCs assembled with this flexible metal-free PVC counter electrode exhibited similar efficiencies values as reference DSSCs made with FTO glass based thermally platinized counter electrodes.
