What is it about?

JDP2 is a new transcription factor to control tumor suppressor genes. This action induced the cell cycle arrest and growth inhibition.

Why is it important?

This transcription factor control the tumor suppressor genes such as p53 and Rb. This is peculiar feature of transcription factor and control replicative senescence. This is a super factor to inhibit the abnormal cell growth of cancer cells.

Perspectives

I hope this article suggest the possible target gene to utilize this gene for future therapeutics application for cancer or abnormal cell growth. This gene is a strong inducer of the replicative senescence. This might be very useful for the future use of drug screening and the biomarker of cancer.
