What is it about?

Despite all the existing process safety management systems, there are still a lot of accidents still happen in the process industry. This has led to this research paper which was aimed at designing a process safety management (PSM) framework and taxonomy for the process industry. It involved using the elements from various process safety management systems to design an integrated and more holistic model for process safety.

Why is it important?

The creation of a PSM framework that embodies all human factor elements could ease the transition process for companies within the process industry that wish to adopt this model to enhance their process safety standards and system efficiency. This research could further aid companies in avoiding the legal, moral and financial consequences that come with accidents through adequate implementation of its framework in the process industry

Perspectives

Writing this article was a great pleasure as it has co-authors with whom I have had long standing collaborations. It has led to open doors with health and safety bodies like IOSH and many other job opportunities.
