What is it about?

ZnO nanoparticles (NPs)/quantum dots (QDs), more specifically, have been significant attention because of their desirable features such as strong adsorption capability and easily tunable surface making them possible to use in important areas such as photosensors and electronics.

Why is it important?

This research investigates the role of ZnO nanoclusters (NCs) with different sizes as CO2 and CH4 capture material. First, all possible initial orientations of the CO2 and CH4 were studied on the surface of the ZnO NCs.

Perspectives

When the CH4 and CO2 gases are adsorbed on the ZnO NCs, their electrical conductivities are decreased, and thus the studied ZnO NCs do not generate an electrical signal in the presence of CH4 and CO2 gases.
