What is it about?
Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) is an imaging tool that uses a laser light for non invasive visualization of our body. However, the tool in itself suffers due to loss of laser power as it penetrates deeper into the body. This paper uses physics-based models to correct this artifact making the imaging more reliable and empowering the clinicians to accurately measure disease properties. Here we specifically show the method's application on skin wound healing.

Why is it important?
The paper shows that wound healing proceeds in two phases one is rapid and the other is steady-state. Also due to the method described we could measure the rate of wound healing non-invasively and also visualization small changes within the scar tissue.
