What is it about?
The choice of stationary phase in liquid chromatography is crucial in the separation/purification of chemical mixtures. We have shown in this work how to prepare a novel and highly efficient precursor monolithic stationary phase which has been surface-modified with C-18 ligand through a post-polymerization process for reversed-phase chromatography.

Why is it important?
The precursor monolith permits surface modification with different ligands through an easy post-polymerization route. This helps the separation scientist with enough options on column selection.
