In this study we explore how companies in the ceramic industry can balance making money and being environmentally friendly. It shows that focusing on sustainability helps the environment, while strong networks and resilience boost profits. Companies need different strategies to achieve both goals.

Why is it important?

This research is important because we address a critical challenge for businesses today: being both profitable and environmentally responsible. We focus on the ceramic industry, which faces significant environmental pressures. Showing that companies can achieve both economic and environmental goals through different strategies provides timely insights for businesses aiming to thrive in a sustainable future. This work can guide companies in making informed decisions that benefit both their bottom line and the planet, making it highly relevant and impactful.

Perspectives

Writing this article was a pleasure, as I did it with two colleagues with whom I have collaborated for a long time. It also allowed me to focus on the ceramic cluster of Castellón, Spain, where I had the pleasure of working in the past. It gave me insight into how this industry could combine ecological and financial results.
