About my research
Dr. Abdul Malik is a researcher in the field of climate science, currently serving as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST). With a PhD from the University of Bern, Switzerland, Dr Malik specializes in analyzing historical and future climate changes, focusing on extreme heat events, internal climate variability, and the Indian monsoon. His work notably explores the impacts of climate change on human health and regional climates, particularly within the Middle East and North Africa. Dr Malik's research has provided insights into solar geoengineering, contributing to its feasibility and potential consequences and helping shape international policy discussions. An active member of the scientific community, Dr Malik has held various institutional responsibilities, including mentoring and supervising postgraduate students, organizing international workshops, and participating in global climate conferences. His scholarly output includes numerous publications in esteemed journals, highlighting his role in advancing climate science research globally.
