What is it about?
Depression is consistently undertreated. This study attempted to diminish barriers to follow-up treatment at a federally qualified health center by assessing the impact of therapists calling patients diagnosed with major depressive disorder for rescreening using a short questionnaire, the PHQ-9. The results of the study indicate that patient outreach via phone calls can help increase clinic depression remission rates and patient re-engagement with treatment.
