What is it about?
Persons with mental illness have worse oral health than the general population. The aim of this qualitative study was to identify perceived barriers and facilitators to oral health care among patients with mental illness from the views of dentists, psychiatrists and patients. Several barriers and facilitators to oral health care emerged from the study, suggesting a need for improved interdisciplinary communication and interprofessional education.
