What is it about?
Dysfunctions of parvalbumin interneurons have been implicated in many neuropsychiatric disorders. Parvalbumin neurons generates gamma oscillations which can be enhanced by the various meditation practices. This review brings novel perspective into the possible role of parvalbumin interneurons in meditation and psychiatric illness and therapeutic benefits of gamma modification by meditation.
