What is it about?
An increasing number of older adults are suffering from depression. This in turn leads to more medical problems and a higher risk of death, including by suicide. So, identifying and treating late-life depression is critical. This editorial reviews screening for depression in older adults, diagnosing depression, and treating depression, including medications, psychotherapy, and other approaches.
