This article provides an overview of the development of political science in Southeast Asia. It also discusses the efforts to organize "epistemic communities" by scholars within and outside the region. Finally, it looks at the Philippine Political Science Association as an example of a vibrant epistemic community as demonstrated by the output of the Philippine Political Science Journal.
