Why is it important?
We lack the treatment options to fight the outbreak of 2019-nCoV acute respiratory disease (COVID-2019). If lithium works, it could make a difference because it is widely available.
Perspectives
I hope that our brief report will help to attract attention to lithium as a potential option to explore in 2019-nCoV acute respiratory disease (COVID-2019). I feel that the use of lithium should be investigated by researchers and physicians after careful assessment. However, there is currently no evidence for lithium to be used for COVID-2019 prevention or treatment by individuals.
